Club Notes 14th March 2022

There was no winner of the Cairde Seamróga Ros Liath lotto jackpot on Sunday 13th March. The numbers drawn were 7, 8, 19 and 28. Sean McAleer won the seller’s prize and the five lucky dip winners were Sean McAleer Eshnadarragh, Paul Tracey c/o Quinn’s, John Cronin Brosna, Louis/Sadie c/o Dympna Mohan and Marian Reilly Crockada (online).

Commiserations to James, Sean and the Fermanagh team who were defeated by Louth on Sunday.  Their next game is against Westmeath in Mullingar on Sunday at 2 pm.

Thanks to the 10 lads who sold all their squares for the Fermanagh V Louth Allianz National League game. Half Time Score – Fermanagh 0.07 Louth 2.05 – £50 winner is box 26 Tommy Murray – Well done Tommy!

Thanks to Fermanagh Games Shaun Doherty for delivering an excellent “Coach the Coaches” session on Sunday morning in Shamrock Park.

Thanks also to all the coaches who gave up their Sunday morning to attend the session and the 12 children who came along to assist with the demonstration of the drills. We look forward to continuing to work with Sean as the season progresses to upskill all our coaches for the benefit of our children and the long development of the club.

U15 boys and U16 girls have started training on Monday and Thursday evenings. New members are welcome! Year 8 and upwards!

Training for P3-P7 takes place on Wednesday evenings from 7 pm – 8 pm.

There is an U11.5 Blitz on Saturday morning at 11 am. Location to be confirmed.

U15 boys play Tempo (Away)  on Sunday 20th March at 12 pm.

Club membership is now due and can be paid to Club Registrar Buster Boyle. It is essential that all players have paid club membership before 31st March.

Congratulations to St Michael’s who defeated St Patrick’s Academy Dungannon and won the Rannafast Shield. Well done to Roslea  representatives Darragh Flanagan and Caolán Rooney.

Those who are completing the Safeguarding Level 1 training on Thursday 24th March it is now rescheduled for Wednesday 30th March, 7pm to 10pm in the Complex.

Fermanagh Ladies GFA U14 team took part in a Festival of Football in Shamrock Park on Saturday morning. Well done to the Roslea Shamrocks GFC girls Olivia O’Donnell, Hannah Murphy, Ciara O’Donnell, Mea Reilly and Aoife Connolly.

2022 is the 40th anniversary of the club’s 5th Senior County Championship win in 1982 and of our appearance in the Senior Ulster Club Final V St Galls of Antrim (the first Fermanagh Club to do so). The club plan to celebrate this significant anniversary later this year and would appeal to anyone who has memorabilia from this era that could be included in a display / commemorative booklet, be it newspaper cuttings, photographs, old video footage, match programmes or anything else that would be of interest from that year to make contact with either Francis Rooney, Kevin Boyle, Colin Rooney, Sean Boyle or Noel Boyle. Your memorabilia will be treated with care and will be returned back to you ASAP.

We are hosting SafeTALK which is a Suicide Awareness workshop taking place in Roslea Shamrocks Complex on Thursday 31st March 7-10pm.
