The clubs 2022 AGM took place on Saturday evening past in the Complex. It was a routine AGM again this year where the executive team and sub committees reported on progress throughout the year and their plans for 2023. The following outgoing officers were all elected unopposed to the executive committee again for 2023 which is testament to their great work over the past few years
Chairman – Kevin Boyle

Asst Secretary – Martin Rooney
Treasurer – Sean Boyle

Colm Brady stood down from his position of youth secretary after three years great work and dedication to this role and this position will be filled at the Adjourned AGM which was set for Saturday 14th Jan 2023. The position of PRO will also be ratified at the adjourned AGM as the outgoing PRO Aoife Scott had tendered her apologies to the meeting. The outgoing executive also recommended
Ciaran Maguire continue in his role as Language and Cultural Officer.
Marian Connolly continue in her role as Children’s Officer.
Seamus Mc Mahon take up the new role of Club Safety Leader.
Patricia Flanagan was thanked from the top table for all her great work as Healthy Club Officer and the promotion of health-related activities and talks over the past few years. Patricia is standing down from this role next year and the executive will also appoint this position prior to the adjourned AGM.
Francis Rooney, John Rooney, Noel Boyle & Paul Boyle were selected as our delegates to County Convention this year.
The other notable appointment at the meeting was the appointment of Michael Rooney as club president. Michael now joins the esteemed list of Canon Brian McCluskey, Tommy Callaghan, Packie Mc Cabe & Ownie Callaghan. Michael has given the club sterling service and support in many roles since he returned from working in England in early 1972 and still to this day, he continues to be an ever-present help and support to the club whenever called upon. Well done Michael & congratulations from all our club members.
The other interesting point of note from the meeting was the presence of club president Tommy Callaghan who presided over the election of officers with club Secretary Colin Rooney. Tommy attended his first ever club AGM 75 years ago in 1947 in the Market House in the village and his presence on the night and around the club continues to inspire us, so well done and thanks to Tommy.
